إنَّindeed فَرَنْسَاFrance وَهْيَand she الَّتِيwho ضَرَبَتْhas taken part
إنَّ فَرَنْسَا وَهْيَ الَّتِي ضَرَبَتْ
فِيin كُلِّevery مَجْدٍglory بِالسَّهْمِwith a share فَالسَّهْمِthen another share
فِي كُلِّ مَجْدٍ بِالسَّهْمِ فَالسَّهْمِ
Indeed France—she who has taken
France, who struck with every glorious arrow,
Share after share in every glory—
Has given Egypt all its ancient wonders,
أَهْدَتْhas bestowed إِلَىupon مِصْرَEgypt كُلَّevery مَأَثَرَةٍnoble achievement
أَهْدَتْ إِلَى مِصْرَ كُلَّ مَأَثَرَةٍ
تُصْبِيcaptivates بِآيَاتِهَاwith its marvels أَخَاone endowed with الحِلْمِsound judgment
تُصْبِي بِآيَاتِهَا أَخَا الحِلْمِ
Has bestowed on Egypt every noble achievement
To inspire in her brotherly wisdom's ways.
That, with its marvels, captivates the man of sound judgment.
All modernity and all antiquity
كُلُّevery حَدِيثٍnew thing وَكُلُّand every ذيpossessing قِدَمٍantiquity
كُلُّ حَدِيثٍ وَكُلُّ ذي قِدَمٍ
فِيهاin it مُدينٌindebted بِفَضْلِهَاto her bounty الجَمِّabundant
فِيها مُدينٌ بِفَضْلِهَا الجَمِّ
All things new and all things ancient
In it owe thanks to her munificence.
Within it owe a debt to her abundant bounty.
