فِي صَرْحِ يُوسُفَ لِلأَحِبَّةِ لَيْلَةٌ
سَيُعِيدُwill renew ذِكْرَىthe memory حُسْنِهَاof its beauty السُّمَّارُthe evening companions
سَيُعِيدُ ذِكْرَى حُسْنِهَا السُّمَّارُ
In Yusuf's palace, a night for loved ones,
In Joseph's palace for the lovers there's a night
whose beauty the evening companions will recall.
That the night owls will recount its beauty
جَمَعَتْit gathered مَفَاخِرَthe glories مِصْرof Egypt فِيin أَقْطَابِهَاher leading figures
جَمَعَتْ مَفَاخِرَ مِصْر فِي أَقْطَابِهَا
فَهمُfor they الدِّيَارُthe land قَدِindeed احْتَوَتْهَاhas encompassed it دَارُa house
فَهمُ الدِّيَارُ قَدِ احْتَوَتْهَا دَارُ

الخِرِّدُthe shy maidens الخَفِرَاتُthe modest ones حَوْلَaround فَرِيدَةٍFarida

And Farida, in the necklace, shines with adornments
And the unique one in the necklace glows with jewelry
among the finest in which maidens take pride.

What a fine young man with his intelligence and knowledge
He descends from a lineage that is pure gold among lineages.
That a vibrant origin makes thrive
كُفُؤَانِtwo equals صَفْوَthe pure joy الْعَيْشِof life أَنْthat يَتَلاقَيَاthey both meet
كُفُؤَانِ صَفْوَ الْعَيْشِ أَنْ يَتَلاقَيَا
لاmay not نَغَّصَتْهُmar it عَلَيْهماfor them both الأَقْدَارُthe fates
لا نَغَّصَتْهُ عَلَيْهما الأَقْدَارُ
Well matched are the two; life's pure joy lies in their union;
The perfect couple is the essence of good life that they meet
may the fates never mar it for them both!
