عَلَيْهِ فِي وَقَفَاتِ الصِّدْقِ أَوْ حَلَمُوا
His homelands’ enemies are his enemies, whether they act insolently
His country's enemies are his foes; they erred
Toward him when he stands for truth, or show forbearance.
Against him in their moments of honesty or patience.

If they make a pact with him in fairness, so be it; and if
If they make a just pact with him, so be it, but if
They refuse, his cause is far removed from theirs.
They refuse, his affair is not their affair, though they covet it.

He has secured his standing through the finest course of action,
He consolidated his supreme station
Where he stands firm while mighty mountains crumble,
Where pillars are firm though enemies rage.

And where he gains greater support if they forgive,
The more they pardon, the more his support grows,
And where he becomes more firmly established if they bear resentment.
The more they resent, the more his power strengthens.
