Dead is the orator whose eloquence

Was, by turns, blessing and retribution.

Speak of the healing balm that is passed

Over wounds grown grievous, so they heal.

Speak of the tuneful nightingale, with varying

Notes from its song among the boughs.

Speak of the tranquil lion, roused by

Encroachment on its cubs' sanctuary, not a craving for flesh.

Speak of the torrent, flowing with a roar.

Speak of the fire, rising as it blazes fiercely.

Speak of the sea, while the winds rage,

And the clouds resound, and the ships crash.
