لِفَضْلِof the grace of اللهِGod عِنْدَكَwith you آيَتَانِtwo signs
لِفَضْلِ اللهِ عِنْدَكَ آيَتَانِ
Congratulations, Emil—for there have now appeared
Congratulations, Emile, for there have appeared
With you two signs of God’s bounty.
Two signs of God's grace for you.
يَنَالُreceives عِنَايَةًcare مَنْwhoever كَانَis أَهْلاًworthy
يَنَالُ عِنَايَةً مَنْ كَانَ أَهْلاً
وَلِلْسَّمَحِand for the gracious الكَرِيمِthe generous عِنَايَتَانِtwo measures of care
وَلِلْسَّمَحِ الكَرِيمِ عِنَايَتَانِ
Whoever is worthy receives one favor,
Whoever is worthy receives care,
And for the openhanded, noble one, there are two.
And the gracious, generous man receives care twice over.
