فِي فِتْيَةِ الجِيلِ كَانَ خَيْرُهُمُ

كُفُؤاً لِخَيْرِ البَنَاتِ فِي الجِيلِ

كُفُؤاً لِخَيْرِ البَنَاتِ فِي الجِيلِ

Among the young men of the generation, their finest was

Among the finest of the generation's youth

a fitting match for the finest maiden of the generation.

Was one well-matched to the best of the generation's girls

فَيَا بَشِيراً بِيَوْمِ سَعْدِهِمَا

أَرِّخْ غَدَتْ رِينُ زَوَجَ جَبْرِيلِ
