قَد يُسيءُ الزمان في ظاهر الأم

قَد يُسيءُ الزمان في ظاهر الأم

ر وَلكنَّ فعلهُ احسانُ

ر وَلكنَّ فعلهُ احسانُ

Time may appear to do wrong,

Time may seem to do wrong on the surface,

And yet its deed is kindness.

But its actions are truly good.

لا تَلوموا الزمناَ بادىءَ بدءٍ

لا تَلوموا الزمناَ بادىءَ بدءٍ

ما لَهُ كي يَقولَ مهلاً لسانُ

ما لَهُ كي يَقولَ مهلاً لسانُ

Do not blame time at the very outset;

Do not blame time which began at first,

It has no tongue with which to say, 'Wait.'

It has no tongue to say "wait!".
