مَثَّلُ العقل وَما يَجهلهُ
مَثَلُthe likeness of المُغرىone captivated بشيءٍby something ضاعwas lost منهُfrom him
مَثَلُ المُغرى بشيءٍ ضاع منهُ
The mind and what it does not know are mirrored
The likeness of the mind in relation to what it does not know
in one enamored of something he has lost:
is that of one captivated by something he has lost.
انif يجدهُhe finds it فهوthen he is مَشغوفٌenamored بِهِof it
ان يجدهُ فهو مَشغوفٌ بِهِ

if he finds it, he is enthralled by it;
If he finds it, he is enamored of it;
if it vanishes, he never ceases searching for it.
or if it vanishes, he never stops searching for it.
