Patience is more imperative when misfortune strikes.

And grief is more fitting before that occurs.

And why do the bereaved weep for the one they have lost?

Was that anything other than what was expected?

Indeed, when I weep at a misfortune’s blow,

I weep over tears I have shed, and lament.

And indeed I have found patience bitter in taste,

But in truth it becomes sweet.

And often medicine is shunned out of aversion,

Yet healing is attained through it when it is drunk.
