At parting, you intoxicated the family of Shumayyil
You were intoxicated at the separation from the family of Shumayyil
with a wine of sorrow that the mouth does not sip.
With overwhelming sorrow that no mouth can describe

And for every art there is now mourning

The clouds water for you a soothing grave
a mighty mountain, crumbled in the dust.
A great dune in the earth demolished

You left your glory and dropped from the heights
mark the date—beside the glory that is greater.
To rest in the greatest glory of all
