هَذا الضَريح شَهمٌ في التراب ثوى

هَذا الضَريح شَهمٌ في التراب ثوى

وَالنَفسُ جاوَرَتِ الأَملاك والرُسُلا

وَالنَفسُ جاوَرَتِ الأَملاك والرُسُلا

Here in this tomb a valiant man came to rest in the dust;

This tomb holds a noble man who rests in the dust.

his soul has joined the company of angels and messengers.

And his soul has come to dwell beside the angels and messengers.

ابكى بني فرَج اللَه الكرام دماً لَمّا

ابكى بني فرَج اللَه الكرام دماً لَمّا

لَمّا الى فَرج اللَه العليِّ علا

لَمّا الى فَرج اللَه العليِّ علا

He made the noble sons of Farajallah weep blood as one,

He made the noble sons of Faraj Allah weep blood when—

when he rose to the deliverance of God Most High.

When he ascended to the relief of God Most High.

قَد ناحَهُ المجد والعليآءُ اذ فَقَدا

قَد ناحَهُ المجد والعليآءُ اذ فَقَدا

ركناً عظيماً بطي الترب قد نزَلا

ركناً عظيماً بطي الترب قد نزَلا

Glory and lofty renown mourned him when they lost him;

Indeed, glory and eminence mourned him, for they both lost

his two pillars—two mighty men—had descended into the folds of earth.

A mighty pillar who had descended into the folds of the earth.

فمن يُرِد رقمَ عامٍ ارخوهُ لَهُ

فمن يُرِد رقمَ عامٍ ارخوهُ لَهُ

يَهتِف نقولا لدار الخلد قد نُقِلا

يَهتِف نقولا لدار الخلد قد نُقِلا

Whoever seeks the year’s number, record it for him in this chronogram:

It proclaims: “Nicola has been borne to the abode of eternity.”
