Constantine departed to God, taking along
Constantine went to God accompanied
Deeds of piety with him, goodness, and right guidance.
By good deeds that met with Him and guidance

فاورثت كل قَلبٍ بعدهُ كمدا
A branch that death bent while still in bloom,
A blossoming branch that death withered in its youth
Thus leaving every heart in grief after his passing.
Bequeathing grief in every heart after him

The sons of al-Tawa wept tears of blood for him,
The people of power wept for him blood tears
With every eyelid forever raw with blood.
From every sore, tearful eye continuously

Until he died, he remained holding fast to God,
He remained steadfast until obeying God's calling
Clinging to His rope, he appeared reaching out toward God.
Holding firmly to His rope, turning to the Divine
لِذاكَfor that reason كفواcease, all of you اذاwhen أَرَّختموهُyou record his date بكاًweeping
لِذاكَ كفوا اذا أَرَّختموهُ بكاً
لمّاwhen مضىhe departed لمdid not يُمتdie لكنهُbut he رقداslept
لمّا مضى لم يُمت لكنهُ رقدا
So cease weeping when you date his passing:
Therefore, restrain your weeping when dating his passing
When he departed, he did not die, but fell asleep.
For when he left, he did not die but fell asleep
