And every high ladder they erected
for God turned it back upon them and shattered them.

We were wary of their cunning and evil plotting,

So their scheming only brought them ruin.

They retreated hastily in aversion.

The treacherous sultan of the non-Arabs sent
by our white blades, they offered us peace.
Attempting reconciliation and seeking accord.

Then the treacherous sultan of the Persians sent word,
And whenever they ignited the fire of war,
seeking reconciliation and asking for peace.
Allah extinguished it with the rain of the unseen.
