You are wrong to accept the oppressor's injustice toward us.

And wrong to accept your people being oppressed.

بايع شاري على شعبك تسوم

مايهمك بالحلال وبالحرام

مايهمك بالحلال وبالحرام

You sell and buy, bargaining over your people.

You do not care whether it is lawful or forbidden.

لاجل شعبك بيننا كنت محشوم

لكن الحشمة خسارة باللئام

For your people's sake, you were respected among us.

But respect is wasted on the vile.

When we thwarted the foes' missiles,

You began hurling words, you face of bankruptcy.

من شمال ومن جنوب أمسيتو قوم

وانت تنخى كل مجرم بالظلام

From north and south, you became foes,

While you called on every criminal for help in the dark.

واتفقتوا خذكم الله يا الرخوم

تطعنون الجار وظهور الكرام

تطعنون الجار وظهور الكرام

And you conspired—may God take you, you vultures—

To stab your neighbor and the backs of the noble.

لاحيا فيكم ولانفس تشوم

غركم فينا محبتنا السلام

There is no shame in you, nor a soul that shuns baseness.

Our love of peace misled you about us.

كل غدار تجهز للهجوم

من طمعكم ماحسبتوا للملام

Every traitor readied himself for attack.

In your greed, you gave no thought to reproach.

The battles scarcely lasted a night and a day.

The troops of wrongdoing handed over what was in their belts.

وامست دياره من افعاله هدام

And the invader returned from the invasion defeated.

And his lands lay in ruins because of his deeds.

And the palaces of wishes and dreams came crashing down.

And you settled for seeking the shade of tents.

نحمد الله شيخنا راعي عزوم

We praise God: our sheikh is a man of firm resolve.

And great challenges call for great men alone.

He stays awake when he wants others to sleep.

He rose like an eagle wheeling overhead,

Until your falcons became like doves.
