روحي فداك وإن مُنحتُ صدوداً

Do I conceal what is in me or obey the envious?

وأطوف مابين البيوت لعلّني

ألقى إليك وسيلة وصعودا

ألقى إليك وسيلة وصعودا

And I wander among the houses, hoping I may

And I wander between houses hoping

find a way to you and a means of ascent.

To find access and means of ascent to you

وأعانق الأخطار نحوك والعنا

وأعانق الأخطار نحوك والعنا

كيما أعانق غصنك الأملودا

كيما أعانق غصنك الأملودا

And I embrace dangers and hardship on my way to you,

And I embrace dangers toward you and hardship

so that I may embrace your supple bough.

That I may embrace your supple branch
