أتيتك نادماً أسِفاً حزيناً

أتيتك نادماً أسِفاً حزيناً

جزوعاً أرتجي عفواً وحلما

جزوعاً أرتجي عفواً وحلما

I have come to you remorseful, regretful, and sorrowful,

I have come to you repentant, regretful, sorrowful,

distraught, hoping for pardon and clemency.

Distraught, hoping for pardon and forbearance.

فإن تعفُ فمن شيم وخُلقِ

فإن تعفُ فمن شيم وخُلقِ

وإن عاقبتَ ماعاقبتَ ظلما

وإن عاقبتَ ماعاقبتَ ظلما

For if you pardon, it springs from your qualities and character;

So if you pardon, it is in keeping with your nature and character;

and if you punish me, you will not have punished me unjustly.

And if you punish, you do not punish unjustly.

وإني قد دخلتُ إلى حماكَ

وإني قد دخلتُ إلى حماكَ

ومن دخل الحمى لا شك يُحمى

ومن دخل الحمى لا شك يُحمى

Indeed, I have entered your sanctuary,

And I have indeed entered your sanctuary;

and whoever enters the sanctuary is surely granted protection.

And whoever enters the sanctuary is, without doubt, protected.
