تسلم ثم لا تقفُ

وتعلمُ أنِّي دنِفِ

You offer a greeting, then do not linger,

Keep on greeting then do not stop

and you know that I am lovesick.

And know that I'm gentle

أما وهواكَ لو أمسي

أما وهواكَ لو أمسي

بقلبكَ بعض ما نصِفُ

بقلبكَ بعض ما نصِفُ

Indeed, by my love for you, if there were

If your love one night

in your heart some of what we describe,

Filled half your heart

إذاً أمللتَ واستعدَي

إذاً أمللتَ واستعدَي

تَ عيناً دَمعها يكفُ

تَ عيناً دَمعها يكفُ

then you would have grown weary and sought help

You would have gotten tired and borrowed

from an eye whose tears flow.

An eye whose tears would suffice

ولكن صرتَ تملِكني

ولكن صرتَ تملِكني

وحقَّ لمثلِكَ الصلَفُ

وحقَّ لمثلِكَ الصلَفُ

But you have come to own me,

But you became my master

and arrogance is fitting for one like you.

And it's right for the likes of you to be tyrannical
