حييتَ مَن تَهوى فَحياكا

حييتَ مَن تَهوى فَحياكا

وأبعدَ الهجرَ وأدناكا

وأبعدَ الهجرَ وأدناكا

You greeted the one you love, and he greeted you.

You have greeted those whom you love, so they greet you,

And he banished estrangement and drew you near.

And have distanced estrangement, and drawn you near.

وسرَّكَ اللَه بما لم تزل

وسرَّكَ اللَه بما لم تزل

يحبهُ من قبل عيناكا

يحبهُ من قبل عيناكا

And God has gladdened you with what has always

May God bless you with what, before your eyes,

Been loved by your eyes.

He has always loved in you.

لم تطبِ الدنيا ولكنَّما

لم تطبِ الدنيا ولكنَّما

طابت بمن تهواهُ دُنياكا

طابت بمن تهواهُ دُنياكا

The world did not grow sweet; rather,

The world was not good, but rather

Your world grew sweet with the one you love.

It was good through those whom your world loves.

فعش قريرَ العينِ في نعمةٍ

فعش قريرَ العينِ في نعمةٍ

فإنَّ من تهواه يهواكا

فإنَّ من تهواه يهواكا

So live, with eyes at peace, in bliss,

So live with delighted eyes in bounty,

For the one you love loves you.

For indeed, those whom you love, love you.
