1. قل لمَن تيَّم قلبي دَركا

    أنا إن أصبَحتُ عبداً فلكا

    Say to the one who enslaved my heart: 'Rescue me!'

    If I have become a slave, then I am yours.

  2. أيُّها المالكُ لي صِل مدنفاً

    يفضُلُ المَولى على من مَلَكا

    O you who own me, show affection to a lovesick man.

    A master is superior to those he owns.

  3. سل فُؤادي أيُّها الظالمُ لي

    في الهَوى أيّ طريقٍ سَلَكا

    Ask my heart, O you who wrong me,

    which path it has taken in love.

  4. إن يَدم ما بي أقل وانَدما

    أنا في سلمكَ مِمَّن هَلَكا

    If what ails me persists, I shall say, 'Alas, my regret!'

    At peace with you, I am among those who have perished.
