كأنَّكَ أحببتَ أن أسقَما

فأتبعتَ بالأسهمِ الأسهما

It is as though you wished me to fall ill,

It's as if you wanted me to languish,

So you followed arrows with more arrows.

So you pursued me with arrows upon arrows.

وأقصدتَ قلبَ فتىً لم يَزَل

بحُبِّكَ مشتهِراً مُغرما

بحُبِّكَ مشتهِراً مُغرما

And you mortally wounded the heart of a youth who has always been

And you aimed at the heart of a lad who has never ceased

Known for his love of you, passionately enamored.

To be known for his passion and infatuation for you.

فعش كيفَ شئتَ وزدني هوىً

فعش كيفَ شئتَ وزدني هوىً

فحسبيَ من ذاكَ أن تسلما

فحسبيَ من ذاكَ أن تسلما
