Ibn Musa's giving surpasses all hopes of it,
and his generosity exceeds the reach of description.
إنif ظعنَjourneyed الحمدُpraise إلىto أرضهِhis land
فإنماfor it is only that حنَّyearned إلىfor إلفهِits familiar companion
If praise journeys to his land,
it merely yearns for its familiar companion.
ليسَhe is not بمنسوبٍascribed إلىto جودهِhis generosity
فالجودُrather, generosity منسوبٌis ascribed إلىto كفِّهِhis hand
He is not ascribed to his generosity;
rather, generosity is ascribed to his hand.

يوماًone day إذاwhen ماan emphatic particle ارتاحَhe felt moved to give لمnot تُلفهِyou would find it
Were you to double the world to swell his wealth,
one day, when he felt moved to give, you would find none of it.
