I did not know what grief and anguish were,

Until I was afflicted with something beyond what I could bear.

I did not know—I did not know—that death lies in my gaze,

And that my heart follows the two eyes.

I did not know that the deaths of all people

Gather in the glance of the eye of the sun's sun,

And that I stand exposed to the arrows of death

From the gaze of one who does not refrain from shedding people's blood.
