فاقَ حتى أذعنَ الحسنُ لهُ

فاقَ حتى أذعنَ الحسنُ لهُ

وتَمادى فيهِ من أبصرهُ

وتَمادى فيهِ من أبصرهُ

He excelled until beauty yielded to him.

Excellence prevailed till Beauty bowed to it

And whoever beheld him went to extremes in admiration.

And he who beheld it was impelled to explore it

فلهذا فيه ما أعجبهُ

فلهذا فيه ما أعجبهُ

ولهذا فيهِ ما أكثرهُ

ولهذا فيهِ ما أكثرهُ

So one says of him, “How wondrous he is!”

For this reason in it is what delights him

And another says of him, “How abundant his beauty!”

And hence in it is what mostly attracts him

فهو بالحسنِ يُباري بعضهُ

فهو بالحسنِ يُباري بعضهُ

بعضَه سبحانَ من صورهُ

بعضَه سبحانَ من صورهُ

Thus, in beauty, one part of him rivals

Part of it vies with another in beauty

Another—glory be to the One who fashioned him!

Glory to Him who made it perfect in every part

فيهِ أنوارٌ بهاءٌ ضوؤُها

فيهِ أنوارٌ بهاءٌ ضوؤُها

بثَّها فيهِ الذي قدرَهُ

بثَّها فيهِ الذي قدرَهُ

Within him are lights whose radiance is splendor;

In it are shining lights radiant in their glow

The One who ordained him spread them within him.

Dispensed in it by the One Who decreed that it should be so
