أتوعدني بالهجرِ في كل ساعةٍ

أتوعدني بالهجرِ في كل ساعةٍ

ولا ذنب لي إن كان منك صدودُ

ولا ذنب لي إن كان منك صدودُ

Do you threaten me with abandonment at every hour?

You threaten to abandon me every hour

And I am not to blame if it is you who turn away.

Though I've done no wrong, you've become distant

فأظهِر إذاً وعداً أعيش بفضله

فأظهِر إذاً وعداً أعيش بفضله

كما كان قبل الوعدِ منكَ وعيدُ

كما كان قبل الوعدِ منكَ وعيدُ

So declare, then, a promise by whose grace I may live,

Then make a promise on which I can live

just as there was a threat from you before the promise.

As before your threats, let your pledge now be heard
