ورقدت أنعَمَ من رَقَد
Blessed may your eyelids be with slumber,
Your eyelids found bliss in slumber,
and may the eyes of all who sleep repose;
And you slept, the most blissful of those who slept.

And I am sleepless in a love

That endures through the long passage of time.

May your body never suffer what has wasted me away:
May your body never suffer what has worn me away:

Illness or grief.

To you alone I bring my complaint against you—
And to you I bring my complaint against you,
about that, I turn to no one else.
About that—not to anyone else.
