And one whose beauties are joined to enchantment,

In him the delights of the eyes have made their home.

A sickness has enveloped his lover’s body—

One lodged in him between the eye sockets and the eyelids.

He is made of two essences that have mingled in him,

Both heavenly, exalted beyond any peer.

And he is exalted; not every eye will see him.

So I was with the wondrous and the well-guarded.
