And one who calls on sorrow for tears, as though they were

bewildered on his cheek because they cannot climb it.

Whenever one steady shower of them lifts, there glisten

the first drops of another, whose last drops never come.

He lets his eyes behold tears, until it is as though he,

as they pour from his eyes, were gazing into water.

And he gazes from beneath the tears with an eye

in whose pupil longing gazes, and so it is bewitching.
