فَلاَ تَتَهدَّد بالوَعِيدِ سَفَاهَةً

فَلاَ تَتَهدَّد بالوَعِيدِ سَفَاهَةً

وأوْعِدْ شُنَيْفاً إنْ غَضِبْتَ وواقِمَا

وأوْعِدْ شُنَيْفاً إنْ غَضِبْتَ وواقِمَا

So do not foolishly issue threats;

So do not threaten foolishly with punishment,

And threaten Shunayf and Waqim if you are angry.

But promise gently if you are angered, and be fair.
