صَفِيَّةُ قُومي ولا تَعْجَزي

صَفِيَّةُ قُومي ولا تَعْجَزي

وَبَكّي النّسَاءَ على حَمْزَةِ

وَبَكّي النّسَاءَ على حَمْزَةِ

Safiyya, rise and do not falter.

O Safiyya, arise, do not despair,

And make the women weep for Hamza.

And let the women weep for Hamza,

ولا تَسْأَمي أنْ تُطِيلي البُكَا

ولا تَسْأَمي أنْ تُطِيلي البُكَا

عَلَى أَسَدِ الله في الهِزَّةِ

عَلَى أَسَدِ الله في الهِزَّةِ

And do not tire of weeping at length

Do not tire of prolonging the weeping,

For the lion of God amid the clash of battle.

For the lion of Allah in the battle,

فَقَدْ كَانَ عِزّاً لأَيْتامِنَا

فَقَدْ كَانَ عِزّاً لأَيْتامِنَا

وَلَيْثَ المَلاَحِمِ في البِزَّةِ

وَلَيْثَ المَلاَحِمِ في البِزَّةِ

For he was strength for our orphans,

For he was the shelter for our orphans,

And a lion of battles in his war gear,

And the fierce warrior in the fight,

يُرِيدُ بذَاكَ رِضَا احْمَدٍ

يُرِيدُ بذَاكَ رِضَا احْمَدٍ

وَرُضْوانَ ذي العرشِ والعِزَّةِ

وَرُضْوانَ ذي العرشِ والعِزَّةِ

Seeking thereby Ahmad's pleasure

With that he seeks the pleasure of Ahmed,

And the favor of the Lord of the Throne and might.

And the satisfaction of the Lord of the Throne and Might.
