Had it not been for al-ʿAbsī’s daughter, my she-camel would not have suffered
exhaustion, nor hastened toward an unsuitable place.
فَتِلْكَso that woman التيwho إنْif تُمْسِspends the evening بالجُرْفِat al-Jurf دارُهاher home
وأُمسِand I spend the evening بِخَزبيat Khazbā تُمْسِspends the evening ذِكْرَتُهَاthe memory of her معيwith me
For she is the one: if her home is at al-Jurf at dusk,
and I spend the evening at Khazbā, her memory spends it with me.
