You stole my home and gloat—how can you expel me

from it, and openly deny my right to the homeland!

And if I erect, on my land that was plundered,

a roof of zinc, you will not let it remain a shelter for me!

And if I cry out before the universe: O my homeland!

you deny with fire that the homeland is mine!

So do you think the conditions of the jungle will endure,

while you continue to own the land and time under them?!

    وَنَحْنُ نَبْنِي وما الدُّنْيَا لِتَمْنَعَنا ؟!

    These dwellings—we build them, then you demolish them;

and we keep building—the world will not stop us—

until we have a home to live in,

like other people, with the homeland's free people beside us!
