1. يا "خيالي" : لكِ الشفاءُ السريعُ

    والغدُ المشرقُ الأنيسُ البديعُ

    O my Khayal, may swift healing be yours,

    and a radiant, comforting, wondrous tomorrow.

  2. أنَّ في البيتِ وحشةً لمُحيّاكِ

    وشوقاً تُطوَى عليه الضُلوع

    In the house there is loneliness for your face,

    and a longing around which the ribs are folded.

  3. لكِ منّي ، عدَّ النجوم ، ابتهالاتٌ،

    ومن أمِّكِ الحَنون دموعُ

    For you, from me, prayers as many as the stars,

    and tears from your tender mother.

  4. يا "خيالي" : إن الصِبا يَنبوعُ

    وغَضير الشباب زَهْرٌ يَضوع

    O my Khayal, childhood is a wellspring,

    and youth's freshness is a flower wafting fragrance.

  5. لك من ذا وذاكَ ألطف ما أضفَتْ

    سماءٌ وما أفاضَ رَبيع

    Yours, from this and that, is the loveliest of what was bestowed

    by heaven, and what spring poured forth.

  6. يا "خيالي" : وإنَّ حُبّاً عَصوفاً

    بتهاليل والدَيْنِ شَفيعُ

    O my Khayal, surely a tempestuous love

    intercedes through two parents' invocations.

  7. يا "خيالي" لا زُعْزِعَ الزَهَر

    والغضُ ولا رُوِّع الحمام الوَديع

    O my Khayal, may the flowers never be shaken,

    nor the tender growth, nor the gentle doves be frightened.
