Two crowns adorned you—which surpassed its twin:

the arrow in your heart, or the stone upon your head?

Two crowns adorned you—so tell me truly: with which of them

do you boast over other free people?

Had the palms been granted the power to unsheathe their stature

as a sword, the trees would have become your supporters.

Or if water could reveal its feelings,

the river would come hastening to your children.
