Indeed, generosity among the sons of Dhubyān—as they well know—

and glory dwell in the house of Manẓūr ibn Sayyār.

Who rain down bounty with their hands in steady showers,

With every early-falling shower of the autumn rains.

Their serving bowls visit their female neighbor late at night,

But no young man of theirs goes calling late at night.

Quraysh is pleased to have them as its own kin by marriage,

And they are pleasing to a sister’s sons and to in-laws.
