Do you spend your night asleep, O son of At’ah,
Do I spend the night asleep, O son of Umm Amat,
while the sons of Umamah are not asleep where you are concerned?
While the sons of Ummama lie awake ready for you?
وَتَرىand you deem القِتالَfighting مَعَwith الكِرامِnoble men مُحَرَّماًforbidden

وَتَرىand you deem الزَناءَfornication عَلَيكَfor you غَيرَnot حَرامِforbidden
وَتَرى الزَناءَ عَلَيكَ غَيرَ حَرامِ
And you deem fighting with noble men forbidden,
You see fighting with the noble as forbidden,
and deem fornication not forbidden to you.
Yet find adultery with you not forbidden.
