  1. طعنوك يا وطني المفدى

    في الصدر حتى كدت تردى

    They stabbed you, O my homeland, for whom lives are sacrificed,

    In the chest, until you nearly perished.

  2. والطاعنون بنوك أن

    ت كَسوتهم لحماً وجلدا

    And those who stabbed you are your sons—you

    Clothed them in flesh and skin.
