وقلت لفخري حين جئنا لبابه

نبلِّغه أشجاننا ونودّعُ

نبلِّغه أشجاننا ونودّعُ

And I said to Fakhri, when we came to his door

I said to my pride as we came to his door,

To convey to him our sorrows and bid farewell:

"Let us tell him of our sorrows and bid farewell."

لقد رَبطت منا القلوب بحبكم

لقد رَبطت منا القلوب بحبكم

حبائلُ حتى الموت لا تتقطع

حبائلُ حتى الموت لا تتقطع

Indeed, our hearts have been bound in love for you

For our hearts have been bound by the ties of your love -

By bonds that will not break until death.

Cords that not even death can sever.
