إنني قد أسأت ظني وربي

واقف للمسيء بالمرصاد

I have indeed held an ill opinion, and my Lord

Indeed I have thought ill of my Lord

stands in wait for the wrongdoer.

While He stands in waiting to ambush the sinner

إنني قد ندمت غفرانك اللهم

من سوء مذهبي واعتقادي

من سوء مذهبي واعتقادي

I have indeed felt remorse—I beg Your forgiveness, O God—

Indeed I regret - may You forgive me, O God -

for the evil of my doctrine and my belief.

From the path of right guidance I strayed; so bring me back,
