Your father, Hubab, steals the guest's cloak.
Your father is a thief who steals the guest's cloak
And my grandfather, O Shammakh, is the rider of Shammar.
And your grandfather, O boaster, the knight of Shammarr
بَنوsons of الصالِحينَthe righteous الصالِحونَthe righteous وَمِنand whoever يَكُنis
بَنو الصالِحينَ الصالِحونَ وَمِن يَكُن
لِآباءِof fathers سَوءٍwickedness يَلقَهُمwill meet them حَيثُwherever سُيِّراhe is sent
لِآباءِ سَوءٍ يَلقَهُم حَيثُ سُيِّرا
The sons of the righteous are righteous; and whoever is
The righteous beget the righteous, and he who is born
Born of wicked fathers will meet them wherever he is sent.
To evil fathers will find them wherever he turns
فَإِنso if تَغضَبواyou grow angry مِنat قِسمَةِapportionment اللَهِGod فيكُمُamong you
فَإِن تَغضَبوا مِن قِسمَةِ اللَهِ فيكُمُ
فَلِلَّهُthen surely God إِذwhen لَمdid not يُرضِكُمplease you كانَwas أَبصَراmore discerning
فَلِلَّهُ إِذ لَم يُرضِكُم كانَ أَبصَرا
So if you grow angry at God's apportionment among you,
If you are angry at God's distribution among you
Then surely God, when He did not please you, was more discerning.
Then God, since He did not please you, is more discerning
