لَيتَ شِعري أَجَفوَةٌ أَم دَلالٌ

لَيتَ شِعري أَجَفوَةٌ أَم دَلالٌ

أَم عَدُوٌّ أَتى بُثَينَةَ بَعدي

أَم عَدُوٌّ أَتى بُثَينَةَ بَعدي

If only I knew: is it coldness or coyness?

I wonder if you're a foe or friend

Or has an enemy come to Buthayna after I left?

Or lover who came after me to Buthainah

فَمُريني أُطِعكِ في كُلِّ أَمرٍ

فَمُريني أُطِعكِ في كُلِّ أَمرٍ

أَنتِ وَاللَهِ أَوجَهُ الناسِ عِندي

أَنتِ وَاللَهِ أَوجَهُ الناسِ عِندي

So command me; I will obey you in every matter.

So order me, I will obey you in all things

You are, by God, the most esteemed of people in my eyes.

By God, you are the dearest of all people to me
