لَعَمري لَقَد حَسَّنتِ شَغباً إِلى بَدا
إِلَيَّto me وَأَوطانيand my homelands بِلادٌlands سِواهُماother than those two
إِلَيَّ وَأَوطاني بِلادٌ سِواهُما
By my life, you have indeed made Shaghb through to Bada lovely
to me, though my homelands lie in neither place.
حَلَلتِyou stayed بِهَذاin this one حَلَّةًa stay ثُمَّthen حَلَّةًa stay
حَلَلتِ بِهَذا حَلَّةً ثُمَّ حَلَّةً
بِهَذاin this one فَطابَso became lovely الوادِيانِthe two valleys كِلاهُماboth of them
بِهَذا فَطابَ الوادِيانِ كِلاهُما
You stayed in this one for a time, then for a time
in that one, and both valleys grew lovely.
