أَتَهجُرُ هَذا الرَبعَ أَم أَنتَ زائِرُه

أَتَهجُرُ هَذا الرَبعَ أَم أَنتَ زائِرُه

وَكَيفَ يُزارُ الرَبعُ قَد بانَ عامِرُه

وَكَيفَ يُزارُ الرَبعُ قَد بانَ عامِرُه

Are you forsaking this dwelling, or are you visiting it?

Do you shun this place or are you just visiting

And how can the dwelling be visited when its inhabitant has departed?

How can one visit a place when its prosperity is evident

رَأَيْتُكَ تَأتي البَيتَ تُبغِضُ أَهلَهُ

رَأَيْتُكَ تَأتي البَيتَ تُبغِضُ أَهلَهُ

وَقَلبُكَ في البَيتِ الَّذي أَنتَ هاجِرُه

وَقَلبُكَ في البَيتِ الَّذي أَنتَ هاجِرُه

I saw you come to the house, hating its people.

I saw you come to the house hating its people

And your heart is in the house that you are forsaking.

While your heart is in the house you have abandoned
