Why is it that September calls me and I follow it

To morning wine, as though I were September's slave?

It is only because life is in its prime,

And night is cloaked in cold and length.

And a light shower has appeared, plaintively telling us

Of autumn, with thunder that never grows tiresome.

And Suhail's face has shone forth: it is a jewel,

Red, set at the center of a wreath.
