إِذا الشَهرُ هَلَّ وَلا رِزقَ لي

إِذا الشَهرُ هَلَّ وَلا رِزقَ لي

فَعَدِّيَ أَيّامَهُ باطِلُ

فَعَدِّيَ أَيّامَهُ باطِلُ

When the month begins and I have no sustenance,

When the month ends and I have no provision,

then my counting its days is futile.

I count its days as useless
