شُكراً على ما بدا من صِدقِ وُدِّكُم

شُكراً على ما بدا من صِدقِ وُدِّكُم

فَإِنَّني من صَميم القَلب مَمنونُ

فَإِنَّني من صَميم القَلب مَمنونُ

Thank you for the sincere affection you have shown.

Thank you for the sincerity of your friendship shown,

For I am grateful from the depths of my heart.

For I am truly grateful from my heart's core.

وَاللَهِ ما بِعتُكم حُبّا بِغَيرِكُم

وَاللَهِ ما بِعتُكم حُبّا بِغَيرِكُم

وَلو فعلتُ إذاً إِنّي لِمَغبونُ

وَلو فعلتُ إذاً إِنّي لِمَغبونُ

By God, I have not traded you for others in my affection;

By Allah, I did not sell you my love for another,

And had I done so, I would surely have lost in the bargain.

If I did, I would be the one betrayed for sure.

وَإِنَّما قد قَضى أَمرُ المَليك بذا

وَإِنَّما قد قَضى أَمرُ المَليك بذا

وَكلُّ عبدٍ بِأَمر المَلكِ مَرهونُ

وَكلُّ عبدٍ بِأَمر المَلكِ مَرهونُ

It is only the sovereign's command that has decreed this;

But the king's command must take its course,

And every servant is bound by the king's command.

And every slave is bound by his ruler's law.

وَبعدُ فَالقَلب إِن أَجسامُنا اِفتَرَقَت

وَبعدُ فَالقَلب إِن أَجسامُنا اِفتَرَقَت

مقيَّدٌ بحبال الوُدِّ مَقرونُ

مقيَّدٌ بحبال الوُدِّ مَقرونُ

And now, the heart—even if our bodies part—

Though our bodies may now be apart,

Remains bound and joined by the cords of affection.

Our hearts are still tied by affection's cord.

فَأَسأَلُ اللَهَ إِبقاءَ الهناءِ لكم

فَأَسأَلُ اللَهَ إِبقاءَ الهناءِ لكم

إِنَّ الهناء بحمد اللَهِ مَضمونُ

إِنَّ الهناء بحمد اللَهِ مَضمونُ

So I ask God to preserve happiness for you;

I ask Allah to keep your joy intact,

Indeed, happiness, praise be to God, is assured.

For true joy in Allah's praise is secure.
