توفيقَ مصرَ العامُ وافى سعدُه

توفيقَ مصرَ العامُ وافى سعدُه

وَسعى إِلَيكَ بِفَيضِه المُتكاثِرِ

وَسعى إِلَيكَ بِفَيضِه المُتكاثِرِ

O Tawfiq of Egypt, the year's good fortune has arrived,

The year has brought Egypt good fortune and happiness

And hastened to you with its ever-increasing bounty.

And rushed to you with its abundant blessings

فاِهنَأ به وَاخلَع على أَعطافِه

فاِهنَأ به وَاخلَع على أَعطافِه

حُللاً مطرَّزَةً بحُسنِ مَآثِرِ

حُللاً مطرَّزَةً بحُسنِ مَآثِرِ

So rejoice in it, and drape upon its shoulders

So rejoice in it, and don garments embroidered

Robes embroidered with the beauty of noble deeds.

With the beauty of glorious deeds

وَاجعَل بلادَك فيه روضَ سعادةٍ

وَاجعَل بلادَك فيه روضَ سعادةٍ

تُمسي وَتُصبِحُ في رَبيعٍ ناضِر

تُمسي وَتُصبِحُ في رَبيعٍ ناضِر

And make your land this year a garden of happiness,

And make your country within it a garden of bliss

Passing evening and morning in a verdant spring,

That awakens and sleeps in a flourishing spring

حتّى يَسودَ على سِنينٍ قد مَضَت

حتّى يَسودَ على سِنينٍ قد مَضَت

وَيكونَ عامَ فَضائِلٍ وَمفاخرِ

وَيكونَ عامَ فَضائِلٍ وَمفاخرِ

So that it surpasses the years already past,

Until it rules over years gone by

And becomes a year of virtues and glories.

And becomes a year of virtues and pride

مولايَ هذا السَعد قال مؤرِّخا

مولايَ هذا السَعد قال مؤرِّخا

بُشرى أَبا العباسِ عامُ بَشائِر

بُشرى أَبا العباسِ عامُ بَشائِر

My lord, this good fortune spoke, marking the date:

My Lord, the historian said this good fortune

Good news, Abu al-Abbas: a year of glad tidings!

Is glad tidings, O Abul Abbas, a year of good news
