Ah, who will aid a sleepless man with a wounded breast,

Whom pains assail with an assailant's utmost force?

He yearns for an age gone by, and for a family

That poured over him the like of blossoms' fragrance.

And memory grants him—when longing for home

And its people wears him thin—a bird's flight feathers.

Ah, O wire, by whose means they now

Walk upon a bridge—the daughters of thought.

May God guard the age that nurtured you, for it

Has given those in need their greatest helper.

Indeed, you are succor to one crying for relief from separation,

And aid to one lavish with tears, whose eyes give freely.
