Woe is me for the slender, swaying one!
The willow sways on the praying land
How handsome he is, yet his heart is hard!
How lovely are his movements though his heart be cruel
يَهتَزُّhe sways كَأَنَّهُas though he were قَضيبُa sprig الآسِof the myrtle

He sways as though he were a sprig of myrtle.
He shakes as if he were a rod for flogging
Drunk, yet he has not tasted the cup’s heady wine.
Intoxicated though he never tasted the wine of the chalice
