أَحبابَنا خِنتُم عُهودي وَما

أَحبابَنا خِنتُم عُهودي وَما

تَرَكتُمُ لِلصُلحِ مِن مَوضِعِ

تَرَكتُمُ لِلصُلحِ مِن مَوضِعِ

O our beloved ones, you betrayed my vows, and did not

leave any room for reconciliation.

مِنكُم سُلُوّي كانَ لا مِن يَدي

مِنكُم سُلُوّي كانَ لا مِن يَدي

أَطفَأتُمُ ناري بِما أَدمُعي

أَطفَأتُمُ ناري بِما أَدمُعي

My release from love came from you, not from my own hand;

you quenched my fire with the water of my tears.

وَالآنَ قَد أَنصَفَنا دَهرُنا

وَالآنَ قَد أَنصَفَنا دَهرُنا

مَعكُم هَواكُم وَفُؤادي مَعي

مَعكُم هَواكُم وَفُؤادي مَعي

And now our fate has indeed dealt fairly with us:

Your love is with you, and my heart is with me.
