May God curse a king held in Ibn Mālik’s grasp,
A king has been killed by the son of Malik
and may uprooting swiftly overtake him in the citadel’s courtyard.
And his corpse lies in the courtyard of the citadel

A youth in whom you place no hope and whom you do not fear,
A young man whom you neither hope for nor fear
like worms in the privy: in him is neither harm nor benefit.
Like worms in vinegar, neither harmful nor beneficial
